A broken motor control unit

Something new for the team, a motor control unit that had become unreliable. Out of its case, top off, look inside. Several hours of chasing down the issue, as no wiring diagram, to discover the main power reversing contactor had become faulty.
Device to pieces, contactor out and stripped down. As suspected, dirty contacts after many operations and poor design and maintenance. Unit checked, re-assembled, tested and signed off.
A valuable lesson in fault finding and systematic checking a step at a time to diagnose and find the fault.
End result being a very happy customer and a quick turnaround.
